Mountain Biking
A standard digital camera/video camera is fine for taking some photos at the start and end of a trail – but if you tried using a normal video camera to record yourself speeding down hill, it won’t survive very well. Assuming you don’t come off, and the weather is okay, the camera isn’t made for those kinds of conditions. The bumps and drops will no doubt dislodge something.
To film your mountain biking adventures you need an action camera. Strap it to your helmet or handlebars and off you go. With an action camera, such as one in the ATC range, you can now film yourself, while mountain biking, without worrying about damaging your camera!
Here’s a nice demo video of the ATC 2000 in use. Note, YouTube has really compressed this. Check out some raw footage for a better idea of the camera’s potential.
